South Korea's national football team, led by head coach Hong Myung-bo, has departed for a pre-World Cup training camp in Salt Lake City, Utah, to begin acclimatization ahead of the 2026 tournament.
A dozen South Korean players and reserves left Incheon International Airport on May 18 for the high-altitude camp. The session at 1,300 meters will help the squad prepare for group-stage matches in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Hong unveiled the 26-man roster on May 17. Domestic-based players and reserves departed first, with Europe-based stars including captain Son Heung-min scheduled to join after their club commitments. The team will play friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago on May 30 and El Salvador on June 3 in nearby Provo before heading to Mexico on June 5. South Korea opens the World Cup against Czechia on June 11.
