Sweden's new government jet handed over at ceremony outside Uppsala

Two used Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft were handed over to the air force in a ceremony at F 16.

The handover took place on Monday at Ärna. The aircraft carry the military designation TP 106 and will replace older Gulfstream models.

Olof Stenbergh, head of the 75th government flight squadron, called the day a major event for the air force. The planes are operated by Skaraborgs flygflottilj and will be based at Arlanda.

The deal cost about 1.1 billion kronor. The introduction is viewed as standardization because the air force's new S 106 radar surveillance aircraft are built on the same platform.
