Swedish Tax Agency moves to new address in Orebro

The Swedish Tax Agency has today moved its offices in Orebro from the corner of Storgatan and Järnvägsgatan to Kexen East on Norrbackavägen. Property owner Orebroporten handed over the keys on Wednesday, April 1. The building provides space for about 280 employees.

The Swedish Tax Agency is leaving its classic tax house opposite the police station at the corner of Storgatan and Järnvägsgatan. The agency is now joining the Norr area, where Statistics Sweden (SCB) moved in autumn 2023 to Kexen West.

The former red building on Norrbackavägen, previously housing an IT company, has been renovated over the past year. Demolition of the old facade began in May 2024, and by November the same year only the concrete skeleton remained. The building has since been clad in lighter bricks to blend with the surroundings and for environmental reasons.

The structure has five floors and an area of 3,850 square meters. Nils Källman, project manager at Orebroporten, says: “The building suits their operations very well, so it will also be a well-utilized house. Of course, the most important thing for us is that those who end up sitting in the premises feel it is good premises.”

He also praises the project: “It has worked well from start to finish. Kexen East is a project that has gone almost ridiculously well.” The Tax Agency retains its service office at Olof Palmes torg.
