Tung Chee-hwa honored with China Institute Centennial Award

Hong Kong's first chief executive Tung Chee-hwa was honored by the China Institute of America for his efforts to foster dialogue between China and the United States. The award ceremony took place on Thursday in New York to mark the institution's centennial.

His son Andy Tung Lieh-cheung accepted the award on his behalf. He noted that his father had spent his early career in the United States and came to appreciate the country deeply.

Andy Tung said his father believed the China-US relationship is the most consequential in the world today and focused on long-term solutions to complex problems.
