A man in his 50s and a woman in her 20s have died following a head-on collision between two cars on Bodenvägen in Luleå on Tuesday.
The alarm about the crash came in to police shortly before 5:30 p.m. Two cars had collided head-on in the area near the Rostbollen roundabout. One of the vehicles ended up on its roof in the ditch.
Emergency services, ambulance and police arrived quickly at the scene. The two injured were taken to Sunderby hospital with serious injuries. Later in the evening police announced that both had died.
Police have launched an investigation into the crash. Both cars have been seized for technical examination and witness interviews have been held. Relatives have been notified.
