Un couple de l'Utah inculpé pour le meurtre par torture de leur fils

Un mari et sa femme dans l'Utah font face à des poursuites après que les autorités ont déclaré qu'ils avaient torturé leur fils de 11 ans jusqu'à ce que mort s'ensuive, avant de tenter de maquiller la scène en suicide par pendaison.

Brigham Young Merrell, âgé de 35 ans, est inculpé d'homicide par maltraitance infantile et de torture sur mineur. Son épouse, Melinda Marie Merrell, âgée de 36 ans, fait face à un chef d'accusation de torture sur mineur dans le cadre du décès de leur fils, Moroni Merrell. Le service de police de Tremonton Garland a ouvert une enquête le 21 septembre 2025, après un appel au 911 concernant un enfant inconscient. Le garçon a été déclaré mort à l'hôpital malgré les tentatives pour le réanimer.
