Angelina Jolie fights Brad Pitt over tax records in Miraval case

Angelina Jolie is pushing back in court against Brad Pitt's request for her old tax returns. The latest filings come as the former couple spar over their French winery, Chateau Miraval.

Jolie filed new docs slamming Pitt's effort as rooted in "continued mischaracterization and selective quoting" of her statements. She sold her stake in the estate to Stoli without his approval and disputes any need for his sign-off.

She already handed over some returns voluntarily but calls further demands from 2017-2019 an invasion of privacy. Her team argues the real goal was untangling finances from a "controlling and abusive ex-husband," not proving financial distress.

Pitt's side claims the records are key to testing her allegations. They point to her reported $33 million payday for Maleficent as evidence she had options.

A judge has yet to rule. So... will the tea stay sealed or spill in open court?

The emails, deemed privileged despite not all being attorney-client, won't be handed over in discovery. Jolie's team calls it a key win against Pitt's demands.

Paris Jackson has accused the executors of her late father Michael Jackson's estate of bullying her over questions about estate spending, including payments to law firms, bonuses, and fees. In court filings, the 28-year-old singer claims John Branca and John McClain are mocking her and seeking media attention, while the executors counter that she is the one courting the press. This follows her earlier objections to biopic costs.

The House justice committee deferred opening a sealed box containing tax records of Vice President Sara Duterte and her husband Manases Carpio, presented by the Bureau of Internal Revenue during an impeachment hearing on April 22. In a 21-4 vote, members cited legal concerns under the National Internal Revenue Code prohibiting public disclosure outside executive sessions for legislative inquiries. BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin Mendoza signed the taped box, which remains in the committee's custody.
