Apple TV sets For All Mankind season five premiere for March

Apple TV has announced the premiere date for the fifth season of its alternate history space drama For All Mankind. The 10-episode season will debut on March 27, with new episodes releasing weekly through May 29. A first-look teaser has also been shared, highlighting ongoing tensions on Mars.

The series, created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi, explores an alternate timeline of the space race. Season five picks up following the Goldilocks asteroid heist, where the Happy Valley colony on Mars has expanded into a bustling settlement with thousands of residents. It serves as a launchpad for deeper solar system missions, but rising demands from Earth for law and order are straining relations between Martian inhabitants and their home planet.

Returning cast members include Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt. New series regulars joining the ensemble are Mireille Enos, Costa Ronin, Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz, and Ines Asserson.

Apple TV described the season in its announcement: “Season five of ‘For All Mankind’ picks up in the years since the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Happy Valley has grown into a thriving colony with thousands of residents and a base for new missions that will take us even further into the solar system. But with the nations of Earth now demanding law and order on the Red Planet, friction continues to build between the people who live on Mars and their former home.”

Wolpert and Nedivi serve as showrunners, executive producing alongside Moore, Maril Davis, Kira Snyder, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson, and Seth Edelstein. The production is handled by Sony Pictures Television for Apple TV.

A teaser for the season has been released, offering a glimpse into the escalating conflicts. The global debut begins with the first episode on Friday, March 27, followed by weekly releases every Friday until the finale on May 29.
