A 35-year-old man faces homicide charges after authorities say he shot a 70-year-old victim multiple times during an argument over property in Arizona.
Police in Mohave County responded to a 911 call at about 5:25 a.m. Sunday in the 10000 block of Earls Road in Dolan Springs. An argument could be heard in the background before the line disconnected.
Deputies found Willard Eugene Belt Jr. unresponsive after being shot several times. He was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas for emergency surgery.
Belt later identified Ronald McKinnon as the shooter and said McKinnon had come to the residence, argued over property, and declared he was going to have to kill him before firing a rifle. McKinnon was arrested Thursday during a vehicle stop along with Angela Baker and John Carlton.
McKinnon faces charges including homicide, attempted homicide, and aggravated assault. Baker, 60, and Carlton, 45, were each booked on one count of hindering prosecution. Belt died from his injuries at the hospital.
