Bajel Projects Limited has signed an agreement worth more than $40 million with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company to build sections of a 500 kV overhead transmission line.
The agreement covers Lot 1 and Lot 5 of the line and forms part of Egypt’s national grid reinforcement programme. The signing took place in Cairo with Indian Ambassador Suresh K. Reddy in attendance. Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director and CEO of Bajel Projects Limited, and Mona Rezk, Chairperson of EETC, signed the contract.
Ambassador Reddy highlighted the $40 billion Bajaj Group’s track record and growing India-Egypt cooperation in infrastructure. Ganesh said the project marks a defining moment for the company and strengthens its position in the MENA region.
The contract is classified as an ultra-mega project. Bajel Projects already operates a joint venture in Saudi Arabia and maintains a subsidiary in Abu Dhabi.
