Wernstedt tells Expressen: "We are investigating suspected crimes linked to one of our protected persons."

According to reports to TV4 Nyheterna, protection officers left Åkesson alone briefly, but Säpo does not comment on protection details. No one is currently in custody.

Jimmie Åkesson has declined to comment on the incident, as has Sverigedemokraternas press chief Oskar Cavalli-Björkman.
