A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder after allegedly killing a 4-month-old girl at an at-home daycare in Claremont, California. The victim, Troy May Elaine Cohn from Pomona, died from her injuries after being thrown to the floor.
Claremont police responded to a medical emergency at the daycare on Lynoak Drive. Officers determined that the infant had been thrown to the floor by the juvenile, who was left alone with her.
Troy was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and later transferred to Children's Hospital of Orange County. She succumbed to her injuries there.
The teen, described by KTLA as having autism, was arraigned on July 2 and is being held at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. Troy's mother, Jasmyne Cohn, said her daughter had bruises and a fractured head.
The parents have called for the daycare to be shut down, alleging negligence in supervision.
