Clara Muzzio defends her comments on ESI and refuses to retract

Buenos Aires deputy head of government Clara Muzzio reiterated her criticisms of Comprehensive Sex Education on Sunday following controversy over her remarks.

Muzzio stated on social media that she said nothing out of place when noting there are two sexes according to biology. She added that a large part of ESI focuses on ideological training rather than sexual education.

The official described as sinister ideology the notion that a child was born in the wrong body. She acknowledged ESI's role in detecting abuse but proposed replacing it with programs free of ideological indoctrination.

Lawmaker Esteban Paulón will file a criminal complaint against her for breach of duties and discrimination after she did not retract within 72 hours. Muzzio maintained that the reactions seek an exemplary sanction as a warning.
