Clicks has released a video showing a functional preproduction version of its Communicator Android phone. The device features a physical keyboard and is scheduled to ship in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The video, posted by the company, displays the $499 handset in use for messaging, app navigation, and calls. Co-founder and chief marketing officer Jeff Gadway demonstrates the custom Niagara Launcher interface and hardware elements such as the fingerprint sensor in the spacebar.
The Communicator runs Android 16 and includes a 4-inch OLED display, 50-megapixel main camera, 4,000 mAh battery, and support for wireless charging. It is positioned as a secondary device focused on typing and messaging.
The phone revives design elements from earlier BlackBerry models while adding modern features like a 3.5 mm headphone jack and microSD expansion. Reservations are open on the company website for $199.
Gadway has indicated that additional videos covering further features will appear in the coming weeks.
