Colorado man sentenced to 41 years for shooting ex-wife

Brandon Allen received a 41-year prison term this week for shooting his ex-wife in front of their 7-year-old twins in Longmont, Colorado. The attack occurred in March 2024 while the children sat in the back seat of their mother's car.

Allen, 48, fired multiple shots at Nicki Douglass-Johansen as she sat in her driveway. One bullet struck her neck and caused severe injuries, though she survived. The twins were unharmed but witnessed the attack and later asked if their mother would remember them.
