Cuba receives international aid after Hurricane Melissa

Hurricane Melissa caused significant damage in Cuba, particularly in the eastern region, affecting numerous people. In response, the Japanese government delivered an emergency donation in Havana to help the victims, a gesture that strengthens the bonds of solidarity between the two nations.

From Caracas, Venezuela dispatched another shipment of humanitarian aid containing more than 5,000 tons of food, medicine, supplies, and toys, bound for eastern Cuba to assist those affected. This marks the second such shipment, highlighting cooperation between the two countries.

In Santa Marta, Colombia, Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa met with members of the Solidarity Movement with Cuba (MCSC) and Cubans residing in the country. He later expressed gratitude for the support given to Cuba by the MCSC, other friendly groups, and individuals. These actions reflect ongoing international support for Cuba during crises, aiding the recovery of affected communities.
