Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has assured Uttarakhand counterpart Pushkar Singh Dhami that the investigation into the June 3 Malviya Nagar fire will be fair and impartial. The death toll has risen to 22. Authorities have arrested two individuals connected to the bed-and-breakfast facility where the blaze occurred.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated on Sunday that the probe into the Malviya Nagar fire is being conducted with complete impartiality and transparency. She said all agencies have been directed to ensure a thorough investigation based on facts and evidence. The death toll rose to 22 on Saturday after another foreign national succumbed to injuries. The fire broke out on June 3 at the Flourish Stay bed-and-breakfast facility in South Delhi. Police arrested owner Lavkesh Bajaj hours after the incident and cook Keshav Negi on June 6. Gupta also highlighted ongoing action against illegal constructions. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi sealed 12 buildings on Sunday as part of inspections across the capital. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami welcomed the assurance of a fair inquiry. He had spoken to Gupta after the arrest of Negi, a resident of Uttarakhand.
