Delhi University opens undergraduate admissions for 71600 seats

Delhi University began the first phase of undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session on Saturday, covering nearly 71600 seats across 67 colleges. The process relies on Common University Entrance Test scores and runs entirely online through a three-phase system.

Delhi University opened registrations on Saturday for its undergraduate programmes. Candidates must use their Common University Entrance Test application numbers to register on the Common Seat Allocation System portal. Essential credentials are auto-integrated to reduce errors.

Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi stated that the second phase will open by next week. Around 71600 seats are available across 73 programmes and more than 100 BA combinations. Registration fees are set at 250 rupees for unreserved, Other Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Section categories, and 100 rupees for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities applicants.

In the second phase applicants will map their test papers to Class 12 subjects and submit college and programme preferences. Class 10 and Class 12 marks will serve as tie-breakers. The third phase will handle seat allocation in multiple rounds until all seats are filled. Sports quota applicants may submit up to three certificates issued between May 1 2023 and April 30 2026.
