Doulo Vesho has taken the sole lead in the AICF Chess for Everyone FIDE Rating Open Chess Tournament 2026 with a perfect score after six rounds. The event is being held in Ngwalwa, Peren. Three rounds remain in the competition.

The AICF Chess for Everyone FIDE Rating Open Chess Tournament 2026 is organized by the Inter School Chess Association – Ngwalwa Circle under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) and the Nagaland Chess Association (NCA). The tournament reached a decisive phase following six rounds of play on Thursday in Ngwalwa, Peren.

Doulo Vesho secured the lead with a score of 6 out of 6 points. Icicang Haikam follows closely with 5 points, while Jeremy Nitova Zhimomy, Ekram Haque, and Ilung Haikam each have 4½ points, keeping them in contention.

With three rounds left, the championship remains undecided. In the seventh round, leader Doulo Vesho will face Ekram Haque on Board 1. On Board 2, Icicang Haikam is set to play his brother Ilung Haikam.

The organizers noted that the tournament is moving toward its climax, where every move and half-point will matter.
