Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom met with OECD Director for Global Relations Andreas Schaal to strengthen cooperation and launch the second phase of the Egypt-OECD country programme.
The meeting occurred on the sidelines of Rostom’s participation in the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting 2026 held in Paris. Discussions focused on deepening the existing partnership between Egypt and the OECD. Rostom highlighted tangible progress achieved in the first phase of the programme across five strategic pillars including economic growth, digital transformation and governance. He stressed that these pillars align fully with Egypt Vision 2030. The minister noted that the second phase will continue implementing recommendations on evidence-based policymaking and linking international expertise with national priorities. He also emphasised Egypt’s commitment to using OECD frameworks to support African partners.
