An Ayodhya court sent eight accused in the Ram Temple donations embezzlement case to 14 days judicial custody. Congress leader Ajay Rai was placed under house arrest in Ayodhya.
A court in Ayodhya on Monday sent all eight accused in the alleged theft and embezzlement of donations from the Ram Temple to 14 days in judicial custody. The accused had earlier been in three days judicial custody and the case is posted for hearing on July 13.
The eight accused include Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla and others. They were involved in counting cash and valuables donated at the temple.
Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai was placed under house arrest at a hotel in Ayodhya ahead of a party delegation visit. Police have issued notices to six to seven banks including SBI and Canara Bank.
