Forward Elias Ekström has spoken about the injury that ended his 2025-26 season early. The 24-year-old, who joined BIK Karlskoga from Örebro, played just 16 games before being sidelined in November.
Ekström's problems began during the summer and grew worse through the autumn. His final match came on 19 November when BIK Karlskoga defeated Modo 3-2. No surgery was required and he spent the remainder of the campaign on rehabilitation.
He described the experience as frustrating, especially as the team advanced to the HockeyAllsvenskan final. Ekström had previously avoided major injuries during his time with Örebro.
Looking ahead, the player said he hopes to return to full training when the squad reconvenes. "Det var en jävla skitsäsong, men förhoppningsvis är jag med direkt," he told Nerikes Allehanda.
