The father of a three-year-old girl kidnapped in Orne and two accomplices have been charged with kidnapping and sequestration. The child, named Khuslen, was found safe and sound on Wednesday in Morbihan. A kidnapping alert was triggered after her disappearance on Monday evening.

On Monday evening, the father of Khuslen, a three-year-old girl of Mongolian origin, kidnapped her from the family home in Alençon, Orne. Aged 36 and separated from the mother, he had lost parental authority following a 2024 conviction for domestic violence. According to Ouest-France, he had shown up at the home pretending to retrieve belongings.

A kidnapping alert was activated Tuesday evening and lifted Wednesday morning. The girl was found around noon in Morbihan, in good health, while her father was arrested near Vannes. Held in custody for "kidnapping and sequestration or arbitrary detention of a minor under 15," he was charged on Friday by the Caen prosecutor's office with "kidnapping and sequestration of a minor under fifteen," a crime punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Two accomplices are also involved. A 41-year-old man who accompanied the father is charged with "complicity in the kidnapping and sequestration of a minor under fifteen." A 47-year-old woman, owner of the Peugeot 308 vehicle used, faces charges of "failure to report a crime and money laundering." The prosecution seeks pretrial detention for the father and judicial supervision for the others.

The case is handled by Caen's instruction unit, after the Alençon prosecutor's office relinquished it. Prosecutor Joël Garrigue announced the charges on Friday.
