The Coachella Valley Firebirds have obtained forward Cooper Marody from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in a trade for future considerations. This move bolsters the Firebirds' roster with an experienced AHL player. Marody brings a solid scoring record from his time with the Phantoms this season.

The American Hockey League announced that the Coachella Valley Firebirds have traded for forward Cooper Marody from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, with the deal involving future considerations.

Marody, a native of Brighton, Michigan, has contributed eight goals and 17 assists, totaling 25 points, in 41 games with the Phantoms during the current season. Over his AHL career, he has appeared in 344 games split between Lehigh Valley and Bakersfield, accumulating 110 goals and 187 assists for 297 points.

His standout performances include participation in the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic. In the 2020-21 season, which was shortened due to COVID-19, Marody led the league with 21 goals and earned a spot on the postseason Pacific Division All-Star Team.

Originally selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2015 NHL Draft, Marody has limited experience at the highest level, playing seven games with the Edmonton Oilers and recording one assist.

This acquisition provides the Firebirds with a proven scorer as they continue their campaign in the AHL.
