Former SHL defenseman eyes return to league

William Worge Kreü remains without a contract for the upcoming season but says he feels no pressure to decide quickly. The 26-year-old defenseman has expressed a desire to return to the SHL while keeping options open across Europe.

Kreü left Swedish hockey after the previous season to join Jukurit in Finland's Liiga. He recorded 10 points in 47 games before finishing the year with Adler Mannheim in Germany, where he reached the league final.

No extension is planned with either club. Kreü told Hockeysverige he is waiting for the right opportunity. "I have said that I sit calmly in the boat until I find something that feels right," he said.

Interest has come from teams in Germany, Sweden, Finland and Austria. Kreü confirmed that a return to the SHL is a goal. "It is clear that one always wants to come back to the SHL," he added. His priority is to compete at the highest possible level.
