Gayle King addressed longstanding rumors of a romantic relationship with Oprah Winfrey during a recent podcast appearance. The 71-year-old CBS Mornings anchor said the speculation once impacted her personal life after her 1993 divorce. She added that she no longer cares about the claims.
On the Call Her Daddy podcast, King told host Alex Cooper that the rumors began after her divorce from William Bumpus. She recalled The National Enquirer suggesting her split was due to a secret relationship with Winfrey. King stated, “If we were gay, we would tell you because, believe me, there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just that I prefer a man.”
