Gilda Lozoya granted provisional release after detention at AICM in Agronitrogenados case

A federal judge granted provisional freedom to Gilda ‘L’, sister of Emilio Lozoya, after a hearing of nearly 10 hours. The Fiscalía General de la República accuses her of alleged money laundering linked to the Agronitrogenados case.

Gilda ‘L’ was detained at the Mexico City International Airport by agents of the Fiscalía General de la República, in coordination with personnel from the Secretariats of Security and Citizen Protection and the Navy. The airline on which she was traveling notified her arrival due to an arrest warrant.

Following the detention, a judge determined that she must hand over her passport, wear a tracking device, appear before authorities every 15 days, and not leave the country or the Mexico City metropolitan area. The decision on whether she will be linked to the process will be made next Tuesday.

The Fiscalía indicates that Gilda ‘L’ allegedly acted as a front person for a company, receiving rights ceded by her brother Emilio Lozoya. According to investigations by the Agencia de Investigación Criminal and the Fiscalía Especializada de Control Competencial, she participated in acts involving resources of illicit origin and in the triangulation of funds related to the Agronitrogenados case.
