Haeran Ryu posted the lowest round in major championship history with an 11-under 60 on Saturday at the Evian Championship. The 25-year-old South Korean was unaware of the mark until after her round.
Ryu birdied two of her first five holes before holing out for eagle on the par-4 sixth. She added birdies on seven, nine and 10 before circling three more on the back nine to reach 11 under.
Her 30-foot eagle putt on the final hole came up short, leaving a tap-in birdie. Ryu only realized the historic total after counting her score with her caddie.
“I never know because I didn’t know it’s par 71 at Evian,” Ryu said. “After the putt, I counted my score with my caddie, and ‘Oh, my God, it’s 11-under par.’ It was so amazing.”
Ryu holds a three-shot lead over Aki Iwai heading into Sunday’s final round. Nelly Korda, who won the first two majors of 2026, missed the cut.
