Lewis Hamilton says his feedback helped push Ferrari toward bolder designs for its 2026 Formula 1 car. The seven-time champion joined the team in 2025 and saw early frustrations give way to stronger results this season.
Hamilton described spending much of last year urging the team to innovate. He recalled asking where Ferrari's creativity had gone and insisting the squad should lead rather than follow rivals.
This year the team introduced several new concepts, including a rotating rear wing and exhaust-mounted winglets that other squads later adopted. Hamilton said these changes followed his requests and have improved the working relationship with the design group.
A fresh aero package featuring an updated front wing and new floor parts was fitted for the Barcelona Grand Prix. Hamilton noted the team still needs more downforce to challenge Mercedes consistently but called the current alignment a solid base for future progress.
