The Miami Heat formally introduced Giannis Antetokounmpo on Thursday afternoon following his trade from the Milwaukee Bucks. Pat Riley commented on the team's next potential target during the press conference.
Giannis Antetokounmpo addressed reporters after being presented as the newest member of the Heat. He explained his decision to join the team and his respect for its culture.
"It was a no brainer, I wanted to be here," Antetokounmpo said. He added that he had long admired the Heat's discipline and drive, noting his desire to thrive under pressure in Miami.
Riley hinted at further roster moves, saying the team had landed one plane and had another to land. The comment was widely interpreted as a reference to LeBron James, a former Heat star whose free agency decision remains pending.
Antetokounmpo also discussed switching his jersey number from 34 to 7. He said the change honored his parents while showing respect to the Bucks organization that drafted him.
