The first goal came in the 27th minute of the first half: Vitinho laid off for Gabriel Mercado, who pushed the ball into the net. The second was scored by Alan Patrick from a penalty, beating Chapecoense's goalkeeper Léo Vieira. With the result, Internacional exited the relegation zone and moved to 12th place with eight points.
