Jack Mason introduces Palmera Skin Diver via Born & Raised presale

Jack Mason has launched the Palmera Skin Diver, a Compressor-style dive watch, through a new presale program called Born & Raised. Early buyers can purchase it at a discount until April 3rd, with production depending on meeting sales thresholds. The model features solid specifications including 200m water resistance and a Swiss automatic movement.

The Jack Mason Palmera Skin Diver is a 39mm Compressor-style dive watch with 47mm lug-to-lug and 10.8mm thickness. It offers 200m water resistance despite its slim profile and includes an internal dive-time bezel operated by a second crown. Dial colors available are Ash (black) and Ember (orange), with a third community-chosen option unlocking if presales reach 200 units. Buyers can select a stainless steel seven-row bracelet or FKM rubber Tropic-style strap. The watch is powered by the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 68-hour power reserve, manual winding, hacking seconds, and promised accuracy of ±5 seconds per day. Note that it is not a true Super Compressor case design. Jack Mason's Born & Raised program aims to address challenges faced by small watch brands, such as high development costs and minimum order quantities from suppliers amid a tough market post-COVID bubble. During the 'founder's window' open until April 3rd, presale price is US$1,049—a $300 discount from the US$1,349 retail. Full payment is required upon ordering, with the presale needing at least 150 units to proceed; otherwise, it cancels. At the article's writing, 54 units were sold. Production would start post-April 3rd, taking 120 days, after which it enters regular retail via the brand's website and dealers. The program is planned for future releases. The article highlights transparency in the process as a strength, potentially turning buyers into promoters, though risks like failure to meet thresholds remain.
