The Seinfeld alum has issued a public mea culpa after Courtney Stodden called him out for a 2012 Funny or Die bit filmed when she was 17.
Jason Alexander told TMZ he now sees the sketch as inappropriate and regrets participating. "Looking back at the comedy sketch in which Ms. Stodden and I participated in 2012, I completely agree that it was inappropriate and I truly regret it," he said. He added he is "deeply sorry for any harm or distress it has caused Ms. Stodden."
Stodden, now 31, blasted the bit on Instagram. She claimed Alexander rubbed a cellphone across her chest while joking there was "no signal" in her head but "plenty of signal" in her chest, plus joked about taking her "behind the couch" once she turned 18. She noted she was the only minor present and that contracts were signed by adults with money going to her then-husband Doug Hutchison.
In recent years Stodden has become an advocate against child marriage and has spoken out about adults she says exploited her while underage.
