President Javier Milei swore in Diego Santilli as the new chief of staff on Tuesday to replace Manuel Adorni. Fourteen governors and officials attended the ceremony at Casa Rosada.

The ceremony took place on July 1, 2026 at 17.30. Milei first embraced Santilli and then invited Adorni to join the gesture.

Santilli met beforehand with governors including Rogelio Frigerio of Entre Ríos and Marcelo Orrego of San Juan. Among those present were Jorge Macri, Raúl Jalil, Martín Llaryora and Alfredo Cornejo.

Cornejo said Santilli is “a figure of integration and dialogue with the governors”. Santilli stated after the oath that the goal is to “move forward the reforms we need”.

The government formalized the change through Decree 548/2026 published in the Official Gazette.
