Josh Duhamel said his heart rate drops about 25 percent at his cabin in the Minnesota woods. The actor discussed the getaway on the Fly on the Wall podcast.
The 53-year-old actor told Dana Carvey and David Spade that the property gives him a sense of purpose and freedom. He noted he no longer mows lawns there unlike at his Los Angeles home.
Duhamel bought the initial 12 acres nearly 17 years ago for a low price and later added land to reach 50 acres total. The site started with no electricity or water and now runs on solar panels, wells and propane.
He lives mainly in Fargo, North Dakota, with wife Audra Mari and their children while keeping the Minnesota cabin as a family escape. The property features small cabins suited for three people.
