Former NFL star Thomas Davis's ex-wife Kelly Davis just dodged a full trial by cutting a deal in her assault case. She copped to the confrontation but swears it was self-defense after a messy accusation involving her ex.
Kelly Davis entered a pretrial diversion program on Monday and must finish a Cognitive Behavioral Intervention course, steer clear of alleged victim Laura Watterson, and pay $1,380 in restitution. North Carolina court records show the misdemeanor assault and battery charge gets dismissed if she nails every condition.
Her attorney James J. Exum called it a "very fair resolution" for someone with zero criminal history. Kelly admitted she hit Laura at the Charlotte chiropractic office but insisted it was self-defense after Laura grabbed her arm.
The whole thing kicked off when Kelly showed up to confront Laura over claims she hooked up with Thomas Davis. Kelly told reporters at the time, "I don't want that man back ever in my life." The couple split in March 2024 after 16 years of marriage, with their divorce finalized in December 2025.
Thomas, the ex-Carolina Panther and 2005 first-round pick, shares a son with Kelly. So… is this chapter finally closed or just another plot twist?
