Presenter Luciano Huck posted an Instagram video on Sunday to clarify his position on social programs. He stated that remarks at an event in Guarujá were taken out of context.
Luciano Huck denied opposing Bolsa Família after his remarks at the 5th Fórum Esfera sparked controversy. On Saturday he cited the city of Senhor do Bonfim in Bahia and said concentrating 56 percent of the economy on the program creates no incentive for families to leave.
In a Sunday video Huck explained he supports improving the programs with technology and artificial intelligence. “Technology today allows us to understand each family’s reality and individualize these programs,” he said.
He added that social protection must go together with quality education and opportunity creation. The goal, according to Huck, is to support those in need today and build future autonomy.
