Senator Flávio Bolsonaro said on Thursday that he hid contacts with banker Daniel Vorcaro due to confidentiality clauses in the Dark Horse film financing contract. The Intercept revealed audios in which Flávio requests funds from the former Banco Master owner for the production.
Flávio denied irregularities and stated that the R$ 61 million paid by Vorcaro was used exclusively for the biopic about Jair Bolsonaro. He said more than ten investors took part in the project and that confidentiality clauses aimed to shield financiers from political retaliation.
President Lula said the case is a police matter and offered no comment during a visit to a factory in Bahia. PT leader in the Chamber Pedro Uczai asked the Coaf to probe Flávio’s financial transactions.
Deputy Erika Hilton filed a complaint with the TCU against deputy Mario Frias, alleging that an aide in his office worked on the film production while receiving a public salary. Flávio also denied that any funds financed Eduardo Bolsonaro’s stay in the United States.
