President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is set to replace the head of the Entrepreneurship Ministry at the request of PSB president João Campos. Paulo Pereira, former executive secretary of the Conselhão and current National Consumer Secretary, emerges as the likely appointee.
The ministry is currently led by former PSB deputy Tadeu Alencar, who took over after Márcio França stepped down to run in elections. Alencar had França's backing. In early April, Lula elevated several executive secretaries to ministers to ensure program continuity.
A law professor and ally of Deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP)—João Campos' wife—Pereira is regarded as a trusted figure by the PSB leader.
Lula is also considering Olavo Noleto, Conselhão's executive secretary, for the ADBI. He had eyed Noleto for the SRI but selected Deputy José Guimarães (PT-CE) instead.
