On Wednesday evening, December 10, 2025, police were alerted to a shooting in the Kallhäll area of Järfälla municipality, northwest of Stockholm. The alarm came in at 20:49, and a large police operation began involving patrols, ambulance, rescue services, dog units, and a helicopter.
Upon arrival, police found an adult man injured after being shot. He was initially awake and able to talk, but his condition remains unclear. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance. Several residents in the area reported hearing 3–4 loud bangs or shots, followed by a quick police response.
– When the patrols arrived, an injured person was found, says police spokesperson Nadya Norton to TT. She adds: – We have been able to talk to the person. He was awake and talking initially.
No suspected perpetrator has been arrested, and police are conducting an intensive search for the individual or individuals responsible. During the evening, police knocked on doors and spoke with witnesses. At around 23:30, police technicians were at the scene to secure any potential evidence, but Norton declined to comment on any findings.
A preliminary investigation into attempted murder and serious weapons offense has been initiated. The incident is being probed to clarify the circumstances of the shooting.
