A man in his 40s was seriously injured when two people fell from a balcony in central Staffanstorp on Saturday evening. Police suspect the balcony railing gave way.
Police were alerted shortly after 6 p.m. to the scene where people had fallen from a second-floor balcony. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
According to police, the individuals leaned against the balcony railing which then gave way. They fell between four and five meters. An investigation into causing bodily harm has been opened with the housing association as a suspect.
Several witnesses were present as a market was taking place in the area. Police say they are now gathering statements from those nearby.
