Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard confirmed two rounds of talks with the United States on the T-MEC in June and July.
Marcelo Ebrard announced that the second round of negotiations will take place in Washington on June 16 and 17. A third round will be held in Mexico on July 20.
The Office of the United States Trade Representative confirmed the dates and stated that the talks will focus on agriculture and fair competition. The goal is to ensure the T-MEC benefits U.S. manufacturers, farmers and workers.
Banamex warned that the review could extend through annual revisions until the 2028 U.S. presidential campaign. The bank estimated this scenario would maintain uncertainty for investments in Mexico.
