Milei congratulates De la Espriella on Colombia election win

Argentine President Javier Milei celebrated Abelardo de la Espriella's victory in Colombia's election with a post on X. He highlighted advances in economic freedom and security across the region.

Milei wrote that Colombians chose "the path of economic freedom, prosperity and relentless security". He added that "freedom is advancing throughout Latin America and there is no turning back".

The message ended with his usual phrase: "Long live freedom, damn it!". He also stated that "the lion and the tiger roar in Latin America" in reference to a regional right-wing alliance.

According to results with 99.74% of votes counted, De la Espriella obtained 49.65% against 48.70% for his rival Cepeda. The margin was around 246,000 votes.
