NBC renews Destination X for second season

NBC has renewed the reality competition series Destination X, hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, for a second season. Casting is underway, with production set to begin later this year. The show, which challenges contestants to guess mystery global locations, proved popular in its debut summer.

The renewal of Destination X comes after a successful first season that aired on NBC last summer. Premiering in May 2025, the 10-episode run concluded in July, drawing more than 20 million viewers across all platforms and earning billing as the network's top new show of the summer.

In the series, contestants are transported to undisclosed locations around the world and must deduce their whereabouts based on clues. Each week, elimination depends on the accuracy of their guesses, with the ultimate winner claiming a $250,000 prize. Season 1 featured familiar faces from reality television, including Peter Weber from The Bachelor, Josh Martinez from Big Brother, and JaNa Craig from Love Island USA. The season finale saw Rick Szabo emerge victorious, taking home the grand prize.

"'Destination X' is returning with the world as our playground to deliver new unforgettable adventures that will keep viewers guessing every step of the way," said Sharon Vuong, NBC's executive vice president of unscripted programming. She added, "With the incomparable Jeffrey Dean Morgan back at the helm, Season 2 promises to deliver surprising twists and push boundaries even further."

This marks another win for unscripted content on NBC, building on the show's innovative format that blends travel, deduction, and competition. Fans can anticipate more global escapades when the new season arrives.
