A 36-year-old Nevada woman has been indicted on 34 felony charges including alleged threats of a mass shooting and theft of a vehicle loaded with more than 20 firearms. Allison Howlett entered a not guilty plea and requested a speedy trial.
The charges against Howlett include making threats concerning an act of terrorism, assault with a deadly weapon, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, and multiple counts related to firearms possession. Prosecutors say the investigation started after her spouse reported the theft of a Subaru WRX containing the weapons on June 27.
Court records show the alleged threats began as early as January 2024. Howlett is accused of discussing a mass shooting, suicide by cop, and attacks on the Las Vegas Strip or homeless shelters while sometimes wearing body armor.
Police arrested Howlett at a Henderson casino parking garage after she refused to exit the vehicle. A search of the couple's home later recovered additional firearms including a machine gun and rocket launcher.
Howlett remains jailed on $500,000 bail. Her trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 12.
