A new activity requirement in the social services law taking effect on July 1 risks affecting Fontänhuset in Falun. The voluntary-based operation may struggle to gain approval.
The new legal requirement means the municipality can demand that people receiving income support participate in an activity. Fontänhuset helps individuals with mental health issues return to studies and work.
Operations manager Linda Haglund warns that several members will then stop coming to Fontänhuset. She also sees opportunities for cooperation regarding the individuals the requirement will cover.
