Parque Urbano Barón in Valparaíso reached over 85% progress in its construction and its opening is projected for the end of this year.
Housing and Urbanism Minister Iván Poduje visited the works on Monday alongside Mayor Camila Nieto and other regional authorities. He highlighted that it is the most important public investment in Valparaíso in the last 30 years.
The project includes a 400-meter coastal promenade, the recovery of Muelle Barón and spaces for nautical activities. Poduje noted that work is advancing according to the planned timelines for its inauguration in November or December.
Mayor Nieto valued the progress and said the park responds to a historic demand to recover access to the coastal edge. A second stage is being evaluated to incorporate the use of warehouses for tourist and educational purposes.
