The bench of deputies from the Partido de la Gente (PDG) met on Monday with the Segpres minister, José García Ruminot, to present petitions related to the Plan de Reconstrucción Nacional. Lawmakers valued the government's openness and await positive news in a telematic meeting with ministers García Ruminot and Jorge Quiroz at 20:00.
The meeting between the PDG bench and Minister José García Ruminot took place on the afternoon of Monday, April 20, ahead of the entry of the Plan de Reconstrucción Nacional, the key reform of José Antonio Kast's government.
It was the second meeting in recent days to bring positions closer on this project. After the meeting, PDG bench leader Juan Marcelo Valenzuela stated: “We met with Minister García Ruminot, it was a fraternal dialogue of understanding. We saw openness to what we have put on the table, availability to pick up these issues, and they told us they would have news for us in the course of the afternoon”.
Among the PDG's public petitions are an improved FUT, IVA refund on diapers, medicines, and other proposals. Valenzuela added: “The only thing we can say is that we hope those government news are positive for the country”.
The bench awaits a response in the 20:00 telematic meeting with Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz and Segpres Minister José García Ruminot. Meanwhile, Partido Republicano president Arturo Squella anticipated that PDG votes “will be there anyway” to approve the idea of legislating in the Chamber.
