Senate President Paulina Núñez convened a political table on Wednesday with Finance Minister Jorge Quiroz and senators from different sectors to bring positions closer on the national reconstruction megareform.
The meeting took place promptly at 6:30 p.m. at the former National Congress in Santiago. Núñez urged participants not to ask the impossible and expressed hope of dispatching the project in no more than a month.
Quiroz arrived in good spirits and stated he attended because he had good expectations. The minister stressed that the project's processing schedule maintains its fixed deadlines.
Núñez separated the recent vote on the constitutional accusation against former minister Nicolás Grau from this dialogue instance. She said the table opens a political space to face the technical discussion in the commissions.
Socialist Party Senator Paulina Vodanovic also participated and noted that rationality must prevail in the project's debate.
