Anthony Kistle was arrested in Colorado on Tuesday for the 2024 killing of his wife Karen Kistle in Pennsylvania. Authorities had initially treated the death as a suicide but later determined it was a homicide.
Anthony Kistle, 45, faces charges of criminal homicide, theft by unlawful taking involving a firearm, and theft by unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. The incident occurred in May 2024 at a home on Vandien Court in Dingman Township, where 61-year-old Karen Kistle died from a gunshot wound.
Investigators initially believed the death was a suicide. Evidence from the scene, witness interviews, and forensic analysis later showed it was a homicide, state police said.
Kistle was arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate 25 near Castle Pines, Colorado. He is being held in Colorado and will be extradited to Pennsylvania to face charges in Pike County.
Friends of Karen Kistle expressed relief at the arrest after waiting two years for action. They noted she had carpal tunnel in both hands and questioned the initial suicide ruling.
